Course Summary

Meeting I + II  –  Overall Business Planning

Participants will understand the focus points in their planning:

  • What’s the Difference between Strategic Thinking and Strategic Planning?
  • Definition of a Mission Statement and how to create a Mission Statement
  • Service and Sales Strategy development
  • Staffing
  • SWOT Analyze
  • Evaluation of Competition Set and how I set my product apart from the competition (overview about Blue ocean Strategy)
  • Revenue Opportunities and budgeting elements
  • Total Hotel Profit and Lost Statement and how to react to trends in cost management on time Included is a home exercise to build up their own small business planning related to their product participants are owning or working for.

Meeting III – Guest Satisfaction Drivers

Participants will understand the focus points in their Guest Satisfaction:

  • Building personal connections with guests
  • Going the “Extra Mile” and leading by example
  • Body language

Meeting IV – Creating standards

Participants will understand the focus points and techniques to build up standards and drive consistency:

This exercise would need the support of one participant to do the class on property practically after s short theoretical part

Meeting VLeadership

  • Different Leadership Styles
  • Taking Care on people – Wellbeing
  • Recognizing and awarding people
  • Employee feedback – performance evaluation system – Goal setting
  • Developing You / Developing Others – what opportunities I have on property on my own

Meeting VI – Group Exercise Operate a Hotel (Case study) incl. group presentation

One practical course day/one class in one of the participants hotels to run some practical session related to standard development and implementation.

Good English language knowledge and certain Industry experience is required
